Outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey has been under fire recently for disclosing that some politicians in Ghana tried bribing him with $100,000, a house with a swimming pool at Trasacco and a four wheel drive vehicle to silent him.
A lot of critics especially in the political arena have condemned the renowned cleric for his comments accusing him of being a politician in cassock. Some are even calling on him to name those who tried to bribe him.
Adding his voice to the debate, renowned journalist and host of Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Kwami Sefa Kayi has called on the outspoken man of God to ‘stop talking’.
According to him, a man of his (Rev. Martey) caliber should not open himself up for insults.
“He should stop talking…he has said enough. They brought you $100,000, Trasacco house and a four wheel drive vehicle; you didn’t collect it; and so…it’s enough. Somebody should just tell him to keep quiet. You are an elderly person and when you continue talking you open yourself up for insults…everybody has something to say but it is not everything you talk about… why do you lower yourself like that” Sefa Kayi said.
