Mr. James Korsah Brown, a Corporate Banker has charged teachers in the country to discharge their duties professionally in accordance with the syllabi of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in order to prepare their students for future endeavors rather than exploit money from the poor ones in the name of extra classes.
He observed that extra classes are stress pupils who after sitting for so many hours during normal instructional hours class need to refresh their minds.
Mr. Korsah Brown indicated that teachers can cover all topics of the syllabus within the stipulated teaching period insisting that there is no need for extra classes.
The Corporate Banker at the First Atlantic Bank and also part of the Mfantseman constituency finance team for governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Speech and Prize Giving Day of Saltpond Anglican School, observed that teachers can improve on the quality of education the country if they give off their optimum.
The Speech and Prize Giving Day which was sponsored by the 1997 year group led by Mr. Korsah Brown, Alhaji Ismalia Arhin and Rev Justice Anderson was under the theme “Making Education attractive, a collective responsibility”.
According to him, his alma mater lacks a lot of infrastructure including a library complex, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre, among others and called on all the old students of the school to help.
“You don’t need to be the President or Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) before you help the society but whatever God blesses you with , you should be able to support society” he urged
The 1997 year group donated poly tank to their Alma mater to help the kids in the school to get access to potable water.
