It took the timely intervention of a Military and police reinforcement team to fire warning shots to restore law and order.

Tension has been mounting in Somanya after Dendenden, a supposed ring leader reported to have masterminded last Friday’s demonstration was arrested and sent to the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters.

But speaking at the commissioning of Ahwiaa Police Station and Health Centre in the Bekwai Municipal of the Ashanti Region the IGP David Asante-Apeatu said any person who will attack or support the attack of any police facility will face the law of this country.

He urged Ghanaians to endeavor to end lawlessness and promote community peace and safety to strength Ghana democracy.

“Over the years, the police administration has witnessed reckless attack on some police station and sometimes we cannot understand the motivation behind such behavior. The property of the police is for the State so therefore we must protect them” he said.
