STMA announces new refuse disposal site

Sekondi, May 28, GNA – The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has created a new refuse disposal site at Diabenekrom, Mr John Laste, Public Relations Officer of the Assembly announced on Tuesday. He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Sekondi that, the Waste Management Unit of the Assembly started using the new site last week. Mr Laste said the old refuse dumping site at Mpintsin, which used to be a quarry site and has turned into a mosquito breeding ground, was full and would be decommissioned. He said the area has now been reclaimed and could be used for any purpose when it is covered with laterite.
