STC To Deploy Police Officers On Buses

The State Transport Company has instructed its regional managers to ensure that police officers are on board all buses travelling long distances at night. Managing Director, Kwame Adjei Sefa says this is to prevent the recurrence of an armed robbery attack on one of its buses last Tuesday.

The robbers attacked when the bus, travelling from Dormaa Ahenkro to Kumasi, broke down. Mr Adjei Sefa says the deployment of police officers on the buses will provide protection for passenger in such situations. In the long term the company is working to provide insurance for passengers who travel STC coaches.
