STC bus pushes Metro Mass vehicle into fence wall

Dominase (Ash), May 22, GNA – Both drivers of an Inter-City STC and Metro Mass Transit (MMT) buses sustained various degrees of injuries when their vehicles hit each other at Dominase Junction on the Kumasi-Obuasi road on Monday morning.

There were no deaths and apart from the drivers, none of the passengers in the two vehicles got injured, the police said. Deputy Superintendent of Police James Sarfo Peprah, Ashanti Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit, told the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi that the STC driver who was following the MMT bus, made an attempt to overtake it but on seeing an oncoming vehicle, he swerved back and hit its bottom, forcing it to crash into a fence wall of a nearby house.

The two drivers are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The buses were considerably damaged.
