Stay away! EC cautions disqualified candidates

The Electoral Commission (EC) is asking political parties and independent candidates whose nominations were rejected not to show up at today’s balloting for positions.

The ballot would allow political parties to pick a number which would indicate their actual positions on the ballot paper.

Parties including the NDP, GFP and the IPP were disqualified from contesting the December 7 elections due to their inability to complete the nomination forms.

The Principal Public Relations for the EC, Sylvia Annor told XYZ News the rejected aspirants are unqualified to participate in the balloting process.

According to Ms. Sylvia Annor, “some of them were sitting in the conference hall filling the forms and Dr. Afari-Gyan indicated that it was wrong in the sense that you cannot fill forms for those in the Western Region because their signatures would have to appear.”

She stressed that “once you are disqualified, we don’t have any business with you. You are out.”
