State of Assin Kushea road to affect General Election

Assin Kushea (C/R) Nov. 4, GNA – The Assembly Member for Assin Kushea, Mr Annor Benin has appealed to the Government to repair the 12 kilometres Assin- Kushea Road, to facilitate the success of Election 2004 in the area.

Mr Benin, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency, in an interview observed that the bad nature of the road could obstruct the transportation of election materials to polling centres as well as the collection and collating of votes.

He said it took drivers on the road about one hour before getting access to the Assin Assempanaye trunk road.

Mr Benin said as a result, the drivers charged arbitrarily lorry fares ranging between 4,000 cedis and 5,000 cedis instead of the stipulated 2,000 cedis.
