State Attorneys threaten nationwide strike

The Association of State Attorneys is threatening a nationwide strike if government fails to meet their demand for improved conditions of service.

The association has chastised the Finance Ministry, Attorney General’s Department and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission(FWSC) for failing to implement some directives of the National Labour Commission(NLC) for their improved conditions of service including the provision of vehicles, harmonized salaries, Pension schemes and logistical support.

The Association claims they are only demanding what is legally due them, or they may be compelled to disturb the labour environment with an industrial action against government soon.

If the issue remains unresolved, this will threaten activities at the courts as all cases being handled by state attorneys will suffer setbacks.
