Stanbic Bank Ghana’s Affluent Banking Team, in partnership with the Nneka Youth Foundation, hosted a Business Leadership Forum at Mobole D/A Basic School in the Ningo-Prampram district. The event brought together students, parents, and community members to explore leadership, innovation, and financial independence.
Margaret Obimpeh, Head of Affluent Banking, led the initiative with a clear mission: to equip young people and their families with essential life skills. “Our belief at Stanbic is that Ghana is our home, and we are committed to driving her growth. By nurturing the right habits early, we’re giving the next generation tools that will last a lifetime,” she shared. “This initiative shows that Stanbic Bank truly has us at heart,” one parent shared – a sentiment echoed throughout the day.
During a panel discussion, Christiana Asafo-Adjei, Manager -Client Experience, underscored the value of early financial literacy. She encouraged parents to open trust accounts for their children, noting, “Financial education shouldn’t wait until adulthood. Children can begin their financial journey with guidance and discipline, securing their future from an early age.”
She also introduced students to the 60-30-10 rule – a simple yet powerful budgeting method: spend 60% of your money, save 30%, and give 10% back to others. “This approach teaches responsibility, builds security, and fosters generosity,” she explained.
Business Development Manager for Affluent Clients, Abdul Ahmed Mugiss, emphasized the importance of innovation and sustainability in business. He urged gathering to prioritize customer needs and adapt continuously. “A sustainable business evolves with time. Innovation and client feedback are key to long-term success,” he said.
On the topic of leadership, Executive Banker Jonas Tetteh Kugblenu encouraged students to pursue excellence and lead by example. “True leadership is not about authority – it’s about service, integrity, and sound decision-making,” he noted.
The forum also featured breakout sessions where the Stanbic team engaged students and parents in smaller groups, offering practical advice on saving and investing in ways that were easy to understand and apply.
In a show of continued support for youth development, the Affluent team donated GHS 20,000 to the Nneka Youth Foundation to aid its 2026 Youth Camp in Ve Agbome, Volta Region. Presenting the donation, Mrs. Obimpeh praised the Foundation’s unwavering commitment. “Madam Cecilia Fiaka and her team have shown remarkable courage and dedication. This is about transforming lives, not just giving money,” she said.
Founder Cecilia Fiaka expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Stanbic Bank has stood by us since 2012. This contribution will directly impact the lives of young people, just as we envisioned.”
Parents and community members welcomed the initiative with appreciation. “Stanbic Bank has shown that they truly care about our community,” one parent remarked.
