Bolgatanga, Nov. 24, GNA- A five-day workshop aimed at equipping participants on how to handle and treat people under emergency situations has ended in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region. It was organized by the Saint John’s Ambulance, a health agency working under the Ministry of Health.
Explaining the rationale of the workshop, the National Coordinator of St. John’s Ambulance, Mr. Philip Kwabina Adade, said the St. John’s Ambulance was formed in 1937 by the British Police to complement Government’s efforts at addressing health issues in the country. The training was also aimed at equipping people to handle the rampant road accident cases and boost the human resource development base in the country.
The thirty participants who were drawn from the Upper East Region were taken through topics, including fractures, pulse checking, wounds, bleeding, strokes, heart attacks, amputation, and shocks, among others.
