SSSCE ends; WAEC gives go-ahead for rescheduled papers

Accra, Aug. 12, GNA – The West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) on Thursday said that the rescheduled SSSCE examinations were successfully conducted.

The Reverend John Adotey, Head of National Office of WAEC, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra, after the final papers had been written on Thursday that the conduct of the examinations were smooth.

“So far nothing has been reported and I believe everything has gone on smoothly.”

The subjects which were rewritten were French I and II, Business Maths and Principles of Costing II, Literature in English II and Physics I.

The papers were rescheduled after reports of leakage in several schools.

A 23-year-old teacher alleged to be behind the leakage was on Wednesday remanded by a Circuit Court in Accra.

Seth Kwame Quayson was arrested on Monday when he paid a visit to his father Mr Kingsley Quayson, a 54-year-old caretaker of the Axim Castle who had earlier been remanded by the court for the same offence.
