SSSCE commences in earnest in Tamale

Tamale, July 15, GNA – Mr Bolina Saaka, Headmaster of the Tamale Secondary School, on Tuesday advised candidates of the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE) to compete in the essay on the Vice-President’s campaign against indiscipline.

He said since they would be awaiting their results they were regarded as students and as such would be allowed to participate in any school activity.

Mr Saaka was talking to the 530 registered candidates writing the SSSCE at Tamale Secondary School (TAMASCO) in Tamale.

As early as 0730 hours some candidates were already set for the Oral English.

The Headmaster urged the candidates to comport themselves during and after the examination.

Mr Issa Seidu, the supervisor for the examination, told the GNA that the centre received examination materials as early as 0825 hours and that the students were seated 25 minutes to the examination. He said adequate security had been taken to forestall examination malpractice.

At the Tamale Business Secondary School (BISCO), one student did not turn up out of the 427 registered candidates.

Mr Andani Mohammed, the supervisor, said the male student was available the previous day but could not be found to take part in the examination, adding that, this could be due to “examination fever.”

At the Ghana Secondary School (GHANASCO), Mr Mohamadu Saani Abdul Rama, Headmaster, told GNA all the 541 candidates were taking part in the paper and the exercise had been without any problem.

He expressed the hope that the candidates would continue to comport themselves in the subsequent papers.
