Miss Eva Amegashie, Deputy Head of Public Affairs of the Trust who announced this did not disclose the total indebtedness but appealed to defaulting loan beneficiaries resident outside the country to take advantage of the offer to settle their indebtedness, the details of which was posted on the Trust’s website.

Miss Amegashie was speaking at a seminar organised by the Trust for Employers at Nsawam last Tuesday to discuss measures on improvement in services to customers.

It also discussed measures to settle about 733 million cedis owed to the Trust by institutions and establishment within Nsawam. Mrs. Amegashie said SSNIT was eager to improve on its services but needed the support of the employers and customers.

She announced that new measures initiated to enhance the efficiency of SSNIT, included a policy to ensure that customers were served promptly and sanction for any staff who failed to meet targets set by the Trust. “To ensure such policies operate successfully, SSNIT would need to apply its resources efficiently which would require employers to honour their obligations to the Trust promplty.” She added. 14 Sept.05
