SSNIT Board Reviews Forensic Audit Report

The Board of Directors of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has advised Stakeholders to await the outcome of its review of the Forensic and Management Audit of the Trust.

In August 2001, the Ministry of Finance commissioned a Forensic and Management Audit of a number of public institutions including SSNIT. A report of the audit on SSNIT was submitted to the Ministry of Finance in November, 2001 and the Ministry subsequently forwarded the report to the Board of SSNIT for its comments and necessary action.

The Board of Directors according to a release signed by K. Osei Bimpong, has reviewed the report of the Forensic Audit and is liasing with the relevant Security Agencies to assist in further investigations to unearth the pertinent facts in each case. The release said the Board will do all in its power to protect the interest of the Trust and institute measures to ensure transparency and accountability.

The Board further assures the Public that the Board and the Management are in full control of the situation and are working expeditiously to resolve all issues related to the audit findings.
