SSCE candidates face difficulties at examination centres

Ho, Oct 06, GNA – Candidates for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSC) for private students in Ho are facing difficulty locating their examination centres when the examinations got underway on Wednesday. This is as a result of last minute changes made by the examination authorities.

When the Ghana News Agency went round the centres, some candidates complained that they had been listed for subjects they did not entered for while others said they were registered for more subjects than they had applied for. Many of the candidates have also not received their index numbers and have converged at the offices of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Ho to have the issue addressed. Candidates who registered on the Internet are also having problems locating their index numbers at their centres and have been asked to stay outside while the problem is addressed.

Mr Ansah Asare, Volta Regional Comptroller of WAEC, told the GNA that the problem of candidates being listed for subjects they were not offering was as a result of candidates mistakenly shading those subjects on the registration forms.
