SSB Workers Support Heart Foundation

The staff of Social Security Bank (SSB) have contributed a total amount of ?29.8 million to the Ghana Heart Foundation to support its activities.

According to Mr. Kojo Thompson, managing director of the bank, when the foundation was launched, the SSB deemed it expedient to support the initiative with an initial donation of ?2.7 million.

In recognition of the noble objective of the foundation, Mr. Thompson said, the staff of the bank decided to contribute in perpetuity an amount of ?1,000 from the salaries of staff every month in support of the foundation.

In addition, the bank has opened accounts at its 38 branches with the view to facilitating the receipt of donations from the general public and other institutions.

He is optimistic that the staff of the bank and other institutions would be encouraged to make similar contributions towards the realisation of the foundation.
