SRC calls for final timetable

Accra, May 5, GNA – The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Accra City Campus of the University of Ghana on Thursday called on the authorities to come out with the final time-table to help students furnish their employers with exact dates of writing their semester examinations.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mrs Cynthia Opoku Manu, SRC President, expressed “disappointment at the abrupt changes in examination timetable for this semester”.

It said while they appreciated “the fact that changes in timetable are within the powers of the University Authority to accommodate certain problems for the smooth running of the school, we are perturbed and astonished at the frequency of the changes”.

It said within two weeks, the timetable had been changed three times bringing untold hardships to a greater number of students on the campus who are mostly workers.

The statement said most of the students had already obtained permission from their employers based on the original timetable and expressed the fear that some of them might lose their jobs as a result. was as a result of new measures being implemented to protect the integrity of the University, following the malpractices that characterised the last semester examinations.
