SRC calls for early resolution of NAGRAT strike action

Kumasi, May 31, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council (ARSRC) has appealed to the Ghana Education Services to end the stalemate between the service and the striking National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT).

ARSRC comprises student leaders in all second cycle schools in the region.

The appeal was contained in a statement signed by its President, Chief Abdul Moomen.

It noted that the entrenched positions taken by the two parties would prolong the strike action to the detriment of students. The statement drew attention to the plight of final year students, who have less than a month to write their final examination and have been deprived of over 21 days of quality tuition through no fault of theirs.

It appealed to the Government and other stakeholders to fast track the resolution of the strike action in the interest of teaching and learning.
