Special voting begins smoothly in Sunyani

The Special Voting for security personnel and officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Sunyani took off smoothly at 0700 with 22 voters in the queue.

Election materials and officials were available on time and agents present were from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Progressive People’s Party (PPP). They recorded the seal and data on the ballot papers for the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

There were, however, a number of instances when some of the voters could not find their names in the register but Mr Ofosu Kyeremeh, the Returning Officer, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the problem would be solved to enable them to exercise their franchise.

The voters register at the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Headquarters polling station where the Special Voting is taking place, has 1,132 names.
