Special voters cast their votes at Kintampo

Kintampo (B/A), Dec. 6, GNA – A total of 198 eligible voters from the Kintampo North Constituency were able to cast their votes as special voters on Saturday in order that they would be able to perform the various tasks assigned them with regard to Election 2004.

Mr Kofi Frimpong, District Electoral Officer, told the Ghana News Agency that 217 people registered to be special voters and that about 19 of them did not turn-up for the exercise.

At Jema, the capital of the Kintampo South Constituency, 45 out of the 49 registered special voters exercised their franchise. The agents of National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP) and that of the Independent were present.

Mr Kwabena Asante of the Nkoranza District Electoral Office said the Special Voting exercise was conducted at Nkoranza and 82 out of the 87 voters exercised their franchise. NPP, NDC parties sent agents to witness the conduct of the exercise.

At Techiman Municipality, Mr George Gyabaah, Electoral Officer, said 400 people voted at the Techiman South Constituency, whilst 95 out of the 97 registered voters in the Techiman North Constituency turned-up to vote.
