Special policemen go the aid of Brong Ahafo

Accra, June 16, GNA – A special team of policemen have been dispatched from the National Headquarters in Accra to the Brong-Ahafo Region to help check the activities of highway robbers. A statement Mr David Eklu, Deputy Superintendent of Police signed in Accra said the team constituted the first batch of Police personnel to be deployed from the Police Headquarters to assist the various Regional Police Patrol Teams.

Other batches of Police personnel have been dispatched to patrol other highways in the Volta, Ashanti and Central Regions and they have a special responsibility to check other related crimes such as illegal arms trafficking, narcotic drugs and cattle rustling.

It said, “The Police Administration is once again appealing to the public to co-operate with the Police Officers.” Those travelling, especially to the major marketing areas, were advised to contact the Police in their various areas for assistance. Drivers are also advised to plan their routes carefully and as much as possible avoid travelling late in the night.
