Special number plates for gov’t vehicles

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has designed special number plates for government vehicles, tv3network.com has gathered.

Issuance of these new plates will begin on Monday, January 6, 2014 as the Ministry of Transport in pursuant to a directive from President John Dramani Mahama embarks on re-registration of all vehicles belonging to government.

“This is to ensure a judicious application of Government expenditure specifically on the utilization of government vehicles in Ghana as part of Government desire to prudently manage public resources,” a statement signed by Minister of Transport Dziva Aku Attivor on Saturday said.

Meanwhile, details of the new number plates will be made known by Ms Attivor at a media conference on Monday.
