Special Investigations Team to assist Tamale Police

Accra, Oct. 12, GNA – A Special Investigations Team (SIT) has been dispatched from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Accra to Tamale to assist the local Police to investigate the shooting incident on Sunday October 10 in which a 14-year-old boy Ibrahim Amidu was killed.

A statement issued by the Director of the CID of the Ghana Police Service in Accra on Tuesday and signed by Chief Superintendent P. E. Timbillah in charge of CID Operations, said another Special Team was already in the Volta Region to assist in the investigations into the unnatural death of two men at Tsito recently.

It said the two unfortunate incidents had become a matter of concern to the Police Administration in view of the circumstances in which these incidents occurred.

“The Police Administration will, therefore, use every means within its investigation apparatus to get to the bottom of these matters”, the statement said.

The Director of CID, therefore, appealed to anybody, who had information on the incidents to contact the nearest Police station.
