Special Agricultural school to be established at Jukwa

Jukwa (C/R) Nov. 10, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Tuesday said the Jukwa senior secondary school would be upgraded into a special Agricultural Institution under the New Educational Reforms.

He said, this was in line with a project being undertaken in the areas by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and provision of more Agricultural Scientists at the University of Cape Coast.

President Kufuor announced this when addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people of Jukwa as part of his three-day tour of the central region. He said the main components of the Educational Reform would be vocational Technical, Agricultural and other academic pursuits.

President Kufuor said the government would endeavour to uplift the image of Jukwa while the town roads would be rehabilitated.

Nana Amma Ayensua Saarra II Denkyirahemaa appealed to the government to rehabilitate the town roads, upgrade the Jukwa SSS, and help improve infrastructures in the town. President Kufuor addressed a similar durbar Twifo-Hemang.
