Soyinka pays courtesy call on Kufuor

Accra, Jan. 9, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Tuesday granted audience to the 1986 Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, at the Castle Osu.

He is in the country to launch a book on the biography of President Kufuor.

Titled “Between Faith and History”, the book was authored by Mr Ivor Agyeman Duah, a Ghanaian Journalist and Writer.

Professor Soyinka, who described Ghana as his second home, could not hide his admiration of the tremendous physical developments, which had taken place in the country within the last few years. He observed that it was now a “much improved Ghana. The last time I visited it was a distressed place”.

President Kufuor said he was happy to welcome him to the country.
