Southern Volta Association in Toronto celebrates ‘Hogbetsotso’

‘Hogbetsotso’ is an annual festival celebrated among the ‘Ewes’ of Ghana in the first week of November to commemorate their emancipation and exodus from the Walled-city of Notsie present time Togo.

The celebration is a hostile and yet a leave-sighing of the hard-won freedom from the clutches of King Agokoli.

This commemorative was marked on the 9th of October 2004 at the Legion Hall on 11 Irwin Road, in Etobicoke.

This was no low-brow celebration. It was powerfully distinguished with traditional splendor flamboyantly glazed with the chief and his cortege let alone the cultural pomp.
