South Carolina Declares Kennedy Day

SOUTH CAROLINA HONORS DR. ARTHUR KOBINA KENNEDY

Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA – Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy, NPP Presidential Aspirant who resigned the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Family Health Centers Incorporated was honored this past weekend for his outstanding contributions to the State of South Carolina. At the ceremony which took place at the South Carolina State University, South Carolina House of Representatives and the City Council of Orangeburg commended Kennedy for initiating exceptional programming advances for Family Health Centres, including the creation of a new Pharmacy Assistance programme to provide prescriptions to the underinsured and the institution of Americorps Student Programme.

The resolution passed by the State Parliament and signed by the Speaker, Robert W. Harrell, Jr. and the Clerk of the House, Charles F. Reid, commended Dr. Arthur Kennedy for the immeasurable contributions he has made to the Orangeburg community and the State of South Carolina.

The Resolution recognized Kennedy’s tenure of office as CEO of Family Health Centres, for overseeing the construction of two new medical centers – St. George Medical Centre and St Matthews’ Medical Centre.

ORANGEBURG DECLARES DR. ARTHUR KOBINA KENNEDY DAY

The Mayor of the City of Orangeburg, South Carolina – Paul Miller declared May 19th as Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy Day. The Proclamation observed Dr. Arthur Kennedy for being a strong and viable Presidential candidate running on the NPP ticket.

“Dr. Kennedy is hoping to make a difference in his mission to serve the poor and under-privileged in his country Ghana”, the Proclamation added.

The Proclamation recounted traumatic experiences Dr. Kennedy encountered while a student at the medical school at the University of Ghana, Legon. They included his arrest and detention as a student leader or President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) and his subsequent exile to pursue his academic goals in the United States of America.

The Resolution was hopeful Dr. Kennedy would continue to impact countless lives in the years to come.
