Son kills father

Suhum (E/R), April 13, GNA – A 30-year-old unemployed, Lartey Ngor, who allegedly killed his 65-year-old father, Mr Francis Ngor, was remanded by the Suhum Magistrate Court presided over by Mr M.E. Essandoh charged with murder.

The accused, whose plea was not taken, was ordered by the court to be sent to a psychiatry hospital for examination.

The prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector I. A. Gruah said both the accused person and the deceased lived in the same house at Achirensa. On April 4, Lartey bought food and whilst eating the deceased emerged from his room and collected the food from him. The accused became offended and chased the deceased who picked a stick to hit him and in attempt to dodge the stick, the accused pushed the deceased who fell and died.
