Some 2,073 candidates writing BECE in the Kwahu West

Nkawkaw, April 12, GNA – 2,073 candidates from 64 basic schools registered to right the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at eight centers in the Kwahu West Municipality. The candidates were made up of 1,091 boys and 982 girls but there were 7 absentees made up of 3 girls and 4 boys at five centers. Briefing the media after visiting some of the examination centers, the Municipal Director of Education, Mr Noah Dwamena advised the candidates to avoid examination malpractices to enable them further their education since it was their first external examination. He said the municipality had not experienced any examination malpractices in both BECE and West African Senior Secondary Examination (WASSE).

Mr Dwamena advised drivers who will transport candidates from their schools to examination centers and back to be extra careful. The Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr Kingsley Osei, urged parents to provide the needs of their children for them to have sound mind to write the exams. 12 April 11
