Nkawie (Ash), Oct 8, GNA- Some 1,360 School Management Committees (SMCs) and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in Atwima District are to be re-trained to improve efficiency and strengthen their district level linkages.

The programme is to be organised by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under its Quality Improvement in Primary Schools and Community School Alliance (QUIPS/CSA) project.

Mr George Appiah, a Programme Officer of QUIPS/CSA, said the exercise aims at promoting greater community involvement in improving the quality of education.

He was speaking at the end of a five-day SMC/PTA training of trainer’s workshop for 15 officers selected from Atwima District Education Office.

Mr Appiah said the programme forms part of a three-year national training by the GES and sponsored by USAID.
