Tepa (Ash), Aug 02, GNA – Some 128 candidates have filed their nomination papers to contest the forth coming District Assembly Elections in the Ahafo-Ano North District. The 104 men and 24 women are contesting in the 36 electoral areas in the district.
According to the District Electoral Officer, Mr. Manu Sakyi, Tepa Zongo, Wawase and Akwasiase Zongo electoral areas had the highest number of contestants with six candidates in each area. He mentioned Asikafoammantem in Kojo Betiako as the only electoral area where there is only one candidate, Mohammed Yahya, 44, a farmer. He was returned unopposed three times. The District Assembly elections come off on September 12.
