Solve problems at KMA once and for all -AUF

Kumasi, Dec 15, GNA-The Asante United Front (AUF) has called for the resolution of the constant agitation for the removal of Chief Executives of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) once and for all. The Front noted that precious time was being spent to make it difficult for the Metro Chief Executive to function effectively. A statement issued in Kumasi at the weekend and signed by Opanin Kwame Afreh, Chairman of the Front, said the agitations to remove the KMA Chief Executive, had assumed a dimension, which should be stopped. It said within a period of two years, there had been several agitations to remove the Metro Chief Executive.

The statement said the suspicion of the Front that the group agitating for the removal of the Metro Chief Executive was paid agents of people whose avowed aim was to ensure that the KMA knew no peace for development had been confirmed.

The statement said a careful study of the background of the key agitators at the KMA gave enough proof of the fact that they cannot make any useful contribution towards the development of the KMA.

It said for “nearly 20 years, these individuals perfected in the act of blackmailing public officers and this was the legacy of a long period of political animosity towards public officers especially when opinions differ”.

The Front wondered why the truth about what was happening at the KMAcannot be made public for the restoration of lasting peace at the place and appealed to the Kumasi Traditional Council and the Asanteman Council to intervene since Kumasi deserves peace to develop.
