Sodomy trial: Ali Gabass opens defense today

Ali Gabass, the medical doctor standing trial for sodomy has opened his defense in the criminal case at the gender-based violence court in Accra.

Gabass is standing trial for allegedly sodomizing a 16-year-old boy.

He was arrested in October last year after his alleged sexual activities with the senior high school boy were revealed.

State prosecution has called five witnesses but lawyers for the accused maintain their client has no case to answer.

Starr News sources say lawyers for the accused will today attempt to discredit the juvenile complainant.

They are expected to challenge his claim that he contracted HIV Aids virus from their client since they maintain their client does not suffer from the disease.
