Society urged to protect the Aged – Reverend Senanu

Accra, Oct. 16, GNA – The Reverend Gabriel Senanu of Madina A.M.E Zion Church on Thursday stressed the need for society to honour and protect the aged.

He said the aged offered their energies and talents to sustain the society for the youth to build upon.

Rev. Senanu was speaking at a special day for the aged organized by the Madina Local Council of Churches as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

He said it was unfortunate that the aged were not being well respected or cared for by society, adding “some of the youth see the aged as liabilities rather than assets to society”.

Rev. Senanu called on the church to support the campaign against indiscipline in society, because it had a divine duty to educate the youth to be disciplined and to respect the aged and authority.
