Socialist Forum condemns US attack on Iraq

The Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG) on Friday expressed regret at US air strikes against the Iraqi people.

A statement issued in Accra said the action was a clear violation of international law and undermined the United Nations System.

It has, therefore, called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and recourse to the United Nations Security Council, which is the appropriate and civilised forum for the resolution of all international conflicts.

The statement signed by Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr, for the National Co-ordinator of the Forum, said “the action will contribute significantly to the exacerbation of international tension.”

It pledged the Forum’s full solidarity with the Iraqi people, the Palestinians and the people of the Middle East who were being threatened by the aggression of the United States of America.
