Social media on fire over ICGC’s special offerings

Founder and leader of the International Central Gospel Church, Pastor Mensah Otabil has caused a stir on social media after a picture of some amounts believed to be offerings in relation to this year’s edition of his church’s global summit fondly called “Greater Works” went viral.

The amount was requested from one of the pastors who was speaking at the program.

Some pictures of alleged special offerings are making rounds on social media and have sparked discussions on social media.

A section of the public believes that the offerings are a special test of faith for Christians.

However, the majority of social media users who have commented on the matter believe that it is an ‘outrageous’ way of ‘extorting’ money from church members.

Celebrity musician and politician, Kwame A-Plus made a post on his Facebook Fan page about what the conveners of the program were using God’s name to perpetrate.

His comments opened the floodgates of a barrage of criticisms and innuendos cast at the church for charging such “fees” for offering categorized from $5,000 to $70.

This year’s edition of the ICGC’s “Greater Works” features renowned international speakers including Matthew Ashimolowo, Mike Okonkwo, Tudor Bismark, Enock Abeboye and host, Mensa Otabil.
