This week GhanaWeb came across a comment by a company called Snapmart.net on an advertorial published about the launch of Tonaton.com, a Swedish-owned online classifieds platform in the same business as Snapmart.
Snapmart.net published the following comment:
“Unbelievable.”
“We recently launced www.snapmart.net and I myself am Ghanaian and did send a press release to Ghanaweb. Yet, Ghanaweb did not replied or wrote anything about it.
“However, this Western company comes and they post a photo including a article. It is sad that Ghanaweb is taking bribes and only supporting Western companies and ignoring their own kind.
“Well, good luck Ghana web..but very sad!!”
GhanaWeb, being an all-inclusive platform for Ghanaian news and events, immediately extended an offer to Snapmart.net via the email address provided on their website to publish their press release free of charge (bearing in mind that Tonaton.com pay for advertising with GhanaWeb, the revenue from which keeps GhanaWeb afloat and has allowed GhanaWeb to keep Ghanaians all over the world informed on all things Ghanaians since the early nineties).
Until now we have not received a reply from Snapmart.net on the offer. We would like to state that GhanaWeb does not take ‘bribes’ but rather paid-for advertising, the details of which can be accessed here:
