The Office of the Special Prosecutor(OSP) has detained three former officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), including the immediate past Commissioner-General, Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah.
Two others, Dr. Isaac Crentsil and Christian Tetteh Sottie, are also in custody in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) scandal.
In a release, the OSP explained that the arrests are linked to ongoing investigations into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in respect of contracts between the GRA and SML for revenue assurance services.
The probe also seeks to verify SML’s claims that its services have been saving the nation significant revenues.
