Skeleton found in a hole under a tree

Koforidua, April 1, GNA- A skeleton of a man believed to have died three years ago was found in a hole under a tree at Oyoko near Koforidua on Monday. A polythene bag containing some clothing was found together with the skeleton that was without the skull but with the leg bone in a pair of trousers. Mr John Naami, New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, who confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the tree was on a parcel of land belonging to a retired police officer and situated 40 meters from the main road. The Municipal Police Commander said on Monday, a man who had been hired to fell the tree as part of a process to clear the land for farming, found the skeleton under a hole beneath the tree. Mr Naami said the man reported the matter to the police and officers of the police homicide unit went to the area to remove the skeleton, which has since been buried. He said the police were investigating the matter to unravel the mystery.
