Sixty-nine students acquire employable skills at Nerebehi ICCES

Nerebehi (Ash), Sept 14, GNA – Mrs Comfort J. Wereko-Brobbey, the Executive Chairperson of Bibiani Log and Lumber Company Limited (BLLC) in Kumasi, has lauded the government’s efforts to train and develop the youth to acquire employable skills. The programme, she said, would enable the youth to use their skills to develop their talents to enable them become useful citizens. Mrs Wereko-Brobbey was speaking at the fourth graduation ceremony of the Nerebehi Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills (ICCES) at Nerebehi in the Atwima District on Sunday.

Sixty-nine students, consisting of 53 men and 16 women, trained in carpentry, masonry, catering, electrical, draughtsmanship, hairdressing, building design, batik tie and dye, soap, powder and pomade making, passed-out. Mrs Wereko-Brobbey said the skills and training they acquired would contribute to the reduction in unemployment in the area and also curb the rural-urban drift of the youth.

Mr Robert Yaw Baah, the Centre Manager, appealed to the government to provide it with resources to enable it meet the admission requirements of junior secondary school pupils in the area.
