Sixty co-operative farmers respond to PSI on ginger production

Kuntanase (Ash), Aug 30, GNA- About 60 co-operative farmers associations in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District have applied to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) for financial support to enable them go into production of ginger and pinneaple.

Mr Edward Gbamara Dery, District MOFA Director, who told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Kuntanase, said membership of each of the associations with membership of five to 20 had shown interest. He said the district has already been divided into three zones namely, Bosomtwe, Atwima and Kwanwoma for the effective supervision and monitoring of the farmers.

Mr Dery said his outfit is all set to start the project but it was faced with shortage of staff to educate the farmers.
