Six vehicles involved in multiple accidents

Six vehicles were on Thursday morning involved in multiple accidents on PDW dual carriage road in Takoradi.

The accident, which occurred at 1000 hours, resulted in heavy vehicular traffic, but the National Road Safety Commission safety officers and some police personnel were at the scene to direct traffic.

Detective Police Officer, John Asante, told the GNA that a long vehicle with registration number WR 785-Q loaded with cement moving from one end of the road, had break failure and hit a pickup with registration number GT 7427-12, belonging to the West Africa Hard Ware Limited.

He said other vehicles unawares of the accident bumped into each other and two persons were reported injured and were sent to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for treatment.

Other vehicles involved in the accident included a long DAF vehicle with registration number AS 2604-11, red BMW vehicle with registration number GT 346 X, a long vehicle loaded with cocoa with registration number AE1623-12 and another vehicle with registration number ER 1937-U.
