Six to appear before Judgment Debt Commission

Representatives of six institutions are to appear on Monday, September 30, before the Judgement Debt Commission to assist it in its work.

The institutions are the Attorney General, the Solicitor General, the Ghana National Procurement Agency, the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Ministries of Lands, Forestry and Natural Resources; Trade and Industry, and Water Resources, Works and Houses.

A statement issued and signed by Mr George William Dove, Public Relations Officer of the Commission and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday, noted that institutions are at liberty to appear with their lawyers.

It said the Commission wishes to remind the general public that Public sittings would be held at 1000 hours each day.

The statement urged members of the public who wished to testify or volunteer information to report at the Commission’s office to give their statements.

“The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence,” it said.

“All those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission, but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission. All such memoranda will be treated confidentially,” it said.

The Commission of Inquiry was established by President John Mahama to inquire into Judgment Debt Payments and other related matters.
