Six people are helping police in the murder of a farmer

Nyinahin (Ash), Sept 25, GNA- Six people are helping the Nyinahin police in their investigations into the death of a 53-year-old farmer, Kwaku Adubofour at Antwi-Adjeikrom near Nyinahin in Ashanti. Their names are however, being withheld for security reasons. Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Nyinahin on Saturday, Mr Samuel Fofie, Assemblyman for Antwi-Adjeikrom said the deceased was in the company of the six people who went on a hunting expedition last Sunday. He said during the hunting, one of the hunters took Adubofour as a game and shot him dead.

Mr Fofie said the six people failed to report the incident to either the police or the unit committee but the wife became suspicious when the deceased failed to return home and therefore reported the matter to the unit committee.

He said the committee mobilised a search party and found the body in a bush with gun wounds.

The matter was therefore reported to the Nyinahin police. When the police were contacted, they confirmed the incident and said the body of Adubofour had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi for autopsy.
