Six injured in accident on Agona Swedru-Winneba road

Gomoa Abaasa (C/R), Sept. 5, GNA – Six persons sustained various degrees of injury when a vehicle on which they were travelling from Agona Swedru to Winneba was involved in an accident near Gomoa Abaasa on Thursday.

They were Linda Odamtey, 20, Comfort Asan, 50, Stella Arthur, Evelyn Essel, 10, Osmanu Mensah, 35, the drivers’ mate and the driver of the vehicle, whose name was only given as Kofi, all from Winneba. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Samuel Nyankey, Agona Swedru Divisional Police Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), confirmed the accident to the Ghana News Agency at Agona Swedru. DSP Nyankey said three of the victims were treated and discharge from hospital while the driver, driver’s mate and Asan were still on admission.

He said the police were investigating the matter to establish the cause of the accident.
