Six dead in gory accident

At least six people have been confirmed dead in an accident on Thursday, November 23, involving a Metro Mass Bus and a taxi cab at Boaso near Bechem in the Brong Ahafo region.

According to an eyewitness, the driver of the Metro Mass bus travelling from Sunyani to Kumasi in an attempt to save the life a mentally derailed man who was strolling on the road lost control of the steering wheel and veered onto the lane of the taxicab dragging it into a valley and killing five occupants of the taxi.

The Metro Mass Bus despite efforts to avoid killing the mentally challenged man ended up killing him before ramming into the taxi.

Nobody died on the Metro Mass bus but some passengers who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to the St. John of God Hospital at Duayaw-Nkwanta.

According to the station officer of the Bechem Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), Chief Inspector Emmanuel Kwaku Nyame, it took the efforts of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Police to remove the dead bodies from the Mangled vehicle to deposit at the St.John of God Hospital Mortuary.
