Sekondi, Feb. 1, GNA – Six men have submitted their nomination forms to contest the seat as the Western Regional Representative on the Council of State.
Mr King Addai-Darkwah, Deputy Western Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC) disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Sekondi on Tuesday.
They are Mr Francis Nyamekye Elloin, a 64-year-old retired educationist and a native of Ainyinase, Mr Paul Kobina Damoah, a 72-year-old agriculturalist from Wassa Akropong and Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, 63, Omanhene of Nsein Traditional Area and a farmer.
The others are Mr George Offoegbu, a 77-year-old trader from Takoradi, Pastor Francis Quansah, 71, a native of Agona Nkwanta and Supi Ekow Bentil-Enchil, a 70-year-old lawyer, resident at Sekondi.
Mr Addai-Darkwah said an electoral college that would elect one of the candidates, would be composed of two assembly members from each of the 13 districts in the region.
He said the secret election would be conducted at the conference room of the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) and the winner would be by a simple majority.
