Six arrested in connection with the death of suspected goat thief

Winneba (C/R), Jan. 16, GNA – The Winneba Police have arrested six people in connection with the murder and burying of a suspected goat thief at a secret location at Gomoa Buduatta in the Central Region. The six persons include: Kofi Katu; Emmanuel Nunoo alias Arhin; Kofi Owusu; Safohene Kweku Okantey; Kwame Odoom and Robert Hackman. Narrating the facts of the case to the GNA, Assistant Superintendent of Police Nicholas (ASP) Gasu in charge of the Winneba District Police Command, said on January 5 2006 at about 0245 hours a group of people arrested one Mr Fiifi Taylor from Abura in Cape Coast but residing at Kasoa for allegedly stealing a goat at Gomoa Buduatta. “Cutlass wounds were inflected on him till he became unconscious and died. The following day the accused persons led by Safohene Kweku Okantey went and buried him at a secret location in the town.” Police were informed of the incident and the accused persons were arrested. They are helping the Police in their investigations.
