Sissala West Assembly confirms President’s nominee

Mr Bukari Dramani, the President’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Sissala West District in the Upper West Region has been confirmed by members of the Assembly.

The 59-year-old, who works as a Statistics Information Officer at the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in Kumasi, polled 21 votes out of the 28 Assembly members who voted, representing 75 per cent of total votes.

Before his confirmation, Mr Dramani Chakurah was elected as the Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly due to the death of Mr. William Tengviel, the former PM.

Three other government appointees who had passed on were also replaced in order to get the full membership of the house before the confirmation.

Alhaji Amidu Sulemani, Upper West Regional Minister thanked the Assembly members for confirming the nominee and urged him to work together with all members to bring development to the district.

Mr Dramani thanked the members and promised to work with them in unity, as well as the traditional rulers to bring the needed development to the people.
